On July 8, the United Real Estate Company (UREC) of Kuwait officially signed an agreement with Sudan’s Red Sea State to develop the ambitious “Bride” tourism island project. Under the agreement, UREC will hold an 80% ownership stake, while the partnership will extend over a 50-year term. The project is planned to include modern hotels, luxury residences, and a range of commercial units, aiming to create a vibrant tourism and lifestyle destination. This development represents UREC’s first significant investment in Sudan and reflects the company’s broader strategy to expand its real estate footprint across the MENA region, particularly in high-potential emerging markets. The initiative is also expected to support Sudan’s tourism growth, attract foreign investment, and generate new economic opportunities for the Red Sea State.
